Road closures: almost a dozen for Manchester drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Manchester will have 11 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And nine of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A5103, from 8.30pm June 24 to 5am June 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• A5103, from 8.30pm June 11 to 5am June 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 both directions M56 to Mersey Crescent - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• A663, from 8pm June 6 to 5am June 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A663 both directions Moston Lane East to A627M J1 - lane closure switching for signs.

• A5103, from 8pm June 8 to 6am July 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct nine - five lane closures and slip road closures due to resurfacing.

• A5103, from 9pm June 1 to 5am July 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J24 to J8 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 9pm June 26 to 5am July 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J20 to J19 - lane closure for drainage.

• M56, from 8.30pm July 2 to 5am July 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 3 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• A5103, from 8.30pm July 5 to 5am July 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 4 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• A5103, from 8.30pm July 7 to 5am July 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct five - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance.

• A5103, from 8.30pm July 9 to 5am July 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise jct five -7 - A5103 northbound, lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm July 10 to 6am August 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J21 to J25 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
