Road closures: a dozen for Manchester drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Manchester will have 12 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And nine of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A5103, from 8pm January 23 to 7am June 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions A5103 (A560 Altrincham Rd) to M56 Sharston Link - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 9pm May 2 to 6am June 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage.

• A5103, from 9pm June 1 to 5am July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J24 to J8 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 9pm June 5 to 5am June 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 5 entry slip lane closure due to maintenance works.

• A663, from 8pm June 6 to 5am June 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A663 both directions Moston Lane East to A627M J1 - lane closure switching for signs.

• M60, from 8pm June 8 to 6am June 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions J19 to J21 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm June 8 to 5am June 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 3 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 8pm June 9 to 6am June 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 18 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for Closed on behalf of Amey.

• A5103, from 8.30pm June 11 to 5am June 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 both directions M56 to Mersey Crescent - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• A5103, from 8.30pm June 14 to 5am June 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 1 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M60, from 9pm June 16 to 5am June 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 22 to junction19 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 9pm June 17 to 5am June 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
