Manchester road closures: seven for motorists to avoid this week

Manchester's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And six of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8pm May 15 to 6am May 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J20 to J21 - carriageway closure for white lining/road markings.

• A5103, from 8pm January 23 to 7am May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions A5103 (A560 Altrincham Rd) to M56 Sharston Link - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• A5103, from 9pm May 2 to 5am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 24 to junction 8 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm May 2 to 6am June 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A5103, from 9pm June 1 to 5am July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J24 to J8 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

• A5103, from 8.30pm June 3 to 5am June 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 7 to junction 3 - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• M60, from 9pm June 5 to 5am June 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 5 entry slip lane closure due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
