Manchester road closures: nine for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight
Manchester's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

Hide AdThe latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• A5103, from 8.30pm August 21 to 5am September 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 3 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for construction - bridge/structure.
• M56, from 9pm August 20 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 5 - carriageway closure for electrical works.
• A5103, from 8pm July 31 to 5am September 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 both directions M56 to A5103 - lane closure for drainage.

Hide Ad• M60, from 9pm August 15 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 19 - carriageway closure for electrical works.
• M56, from 9pm August 17 to 5am September 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, J5 to J5 - lane closure for signs - erection.
• A5103, from 9am August 18 to 6am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 3 to 4 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.
And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

Hide Ad• A5103, from 9pm September 15 to 5am September 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 3 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.
• M60, from 9pm September 16 to 5am September 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 19 entry slip road closure due to barrier works.
• M60, from 10pm September 18 to 6am September 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise jct one to 5 lane closures due to bridge inspections.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
