Manchester road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Manchester's motorists will have 13 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And nine of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A5103, from 9pm November 14 2022 to 6am February 5 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise j24 to J5 - Lane closure for Electrical works.

• M56, from 8pm January 6 to 7am February 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, link road closure to A34 northbound, due to gas works.

• A5103, from 8pm August 15 2022 to 5am February 9 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 northbound, Palatine Rd to M60 clockwise, junction 5 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

And a further 10 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A5103, from 8pm January 23 to 7am May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions A5103 (A560 Altrincham Rd) to M56 Sharston Link - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• A5103, from 8pm January 25 to 6am January 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J5 to J5 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• A5103, from 8pm January 26 to 6am January 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 both directions A5145 to J3A - lane closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 8pm January 26 to 6am February 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J19 to J19 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm January 26 to 5am February 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J24 to J25 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• A5103, from 8pm January 30 to 6am February 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Clock and Anticlockwise, junction 5 to 3 carriageway closure for structure maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm January 30 to 3am February 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 22 exit slip road lane closure due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 10am to 4pm on January 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J21 to J22 - hard shoulder only for communications.

• A5103, from 9.30am February 5 to 3.30pm February 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 northbound, works on footway at rear of 26 Parkwood Drive due to insulation of joint flow stop.

• M60, from 8pm February 6 to 6am February 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J20 to J20 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
