Manchester road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight


Manchester's motorists will have 15 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And 12 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

Hide AdThe latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• A5103, from 8.30pm February 17 to 5am February 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 1 to 4 - M60 clockwise jct one to 4 lane closures and carriageway closure for barrier repairs.
• A5103, from 8.30pm February 10 to 6am February 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 both directions M56 to Mersey Crescent - carriageway closure for horticulture.
• A5103, from 8pm January 8 to 5am March 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 both directions M56 to A5103 - lane closure for drainage.

Hide Ad• M60, from 8pm November 14 2023 to 6am April 6 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 20 to 3 - lane closures and slip road closure for signs - erection on behalf of National Highways.
• A5103, from 8pm January 24 to 6am April 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 8 to junction 24 - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.
And a further 10 closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• A5103, from 9pm February 19 to 6am February 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J4 to J6 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.
