Manchester road closures: dozens of for motorists to avoid this week

Manchester's motorists will have 24 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 12 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 10 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 10pm June 10 to 5am June 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 18 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for Closed on Police instruction.

• M56, from 8.30pm June 6 to 6am June 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, J1 Sharston Link to M60 B J2 exit - carriageway closure for barriers - Permanent.

• M60, from 8pm June 10 to 5am June 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J2 to J4 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 9pm March 1 to 6am June 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise A34 J3 to M60 CW and ACW - carriageway closure for barriers.

• M60, from 5am April 20 to 5am July 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 3 - Lane closure for barriers - Permanent.

• M56, from 8pm May 20 to 6am September 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 3 a to 8 lane closures due to improvement works.

• M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

• M56, from 1pm January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, A5103 to J3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure - maintenance.

• M56, from midday, January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure maintenance.

And a further 14 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A663, from 9pm June 13 to 5am June 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A663 northbound and southbound, Eaves lane to Moston lane - Lane closure for signs - Erection.

• M60, from 9pm June 15 to 5am June 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 21 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• A663, from 9pm June 16 to 5am June 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 19 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• M60, from 8pm June 18 to 5am June 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 7 to junction 5 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• A5103, from 8pm June 18 to 6am June 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 5 to 3 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M56, from 11pm June 18 to 6am June 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 3 to 5 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• A663, from 6am to 9am on June 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 exit slip road closures for technology works.

• M60, from 8.30pm June 20 to 5am June 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 3 - carriageway closure for barriers.

• M60, from 9pm June 20 to 6am June 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anticlockwise, junction 5 - three lane closures due to inspections.

• M60, from 9pm June 22 to 6am June 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 20 - 18 lane closures and slip road closure due to maintenance works.

• A663, from 9pm June 23 to 5am June 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 21 lane closure and slip road closure due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm June 24 to 5am June 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 23 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• A663, from 8pm June 25 to 6am June 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J18 to J21 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm June 25 to 5.30am June 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 21 to 23 lane closures and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
