Manchester road closures: almost two dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Manchester's motorists will have 20 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 15 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 16 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8pm March 27 to 6am March 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J20 to J18 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

M60, from 8pm March 7 to 5am April 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 5 to 3 lane closures and slip road closure due to barrier repairs.

M60, from 8pm January 28 to 5am April 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise A34 NB to M60, junction 3 CW access slip - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
