Manchester road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Manchester's motorists will have 10 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 5am April 20 to 5am July 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 3 - Lane closure for barriers - Permanent.

M56, from 8pm May 20 to 6am September 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 3 a to 8 lane closures due to improvement works.

M60, from 5am March 12 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 20 - 21 Permanent narrow lanes due to barrier works.

M60, from 8pm March 14 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 - 21 Lane closures for barrier Scheme works.

M56, from 1pm January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, A5103 to J3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure - maintenance.

M56, from midday, January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure maintenance.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

M56, from 8pm June 28 to 6am June 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, link to A34 northbound, - carriageway closure for Structure - maintenance.

A5103, from 8pm July 9 to 5am July 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 southbound, Sale Road to Altrincham road - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

A5103, from 3pm to 5pm on July 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Belgium vs Iceland @ The Academy Stadium - two hours before doors open.

A5103, from 6.45pm to 8.45pm on July 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Belgium vs Iceland @ The Academy Stadium - two hours after event.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
