Manchester road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Manchester's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And seven of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8pm November 14 2023 to 6am March 2 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 20 to 3 - lane closures and slip road closure for signs - erection on behalf of National Highways.

And a further 10 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A5103, from 8pm January 8 to 5am March 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 both directions M56 to A5103 - lane closure for drainage.

• A5103, from 8pm January 8 to 5am January 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 both directions Palatine Rd To M60A entry to M60B entry To Palatine Rd - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 9pm January 8 to 5am January 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 1 to junction 4 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm January 9 to 5am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• A5103, from 11pm January 9 to 5am January 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J6 to J4 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

• A5103, from 8pm January 10 to 6am January 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions J1 to J3 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• A5103, from 8pm January 12 to 5am January 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J4 to J6 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

• M56, from 8pm January 19 to 5am January 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, J3 to J1 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

• M56, from 9pm January 21 to 5am January 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, J3A to J2 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm January 22 to 5am January 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J20 to J19 - lane closures and slip road closure for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
