Road closures: six for Bury drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bury will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A56, from 9pm October 17 to 6am December 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, M66 j1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• M60, from 9pm October 24 2022 to 6am February 11 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 17 to junction 18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8.30pm November 22 to 5am November 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 18 to junction 20 - lane closure for barriers.

• A56, from 8pm November 24 to 5am November 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A56 northbound, J1 to Bent Gate - lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 8pm December 2 to 6am December 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J16 to J18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm December 5 to 6am December 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 3 to 4 - lane closure and slip road closures for drainage.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
