Road closures: seven for Bury drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bury will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm October 17 to 7am October 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier scheme.

A56, from 9pm October 17 to 5am October 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A56 southbound, Bentgate to M66 - Lne two closure for barrier repair.

A56, from 9pm October 17 to 6am December 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, M66 j1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

M60, from 9pm October 19 to 6am October 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 2 - four lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier scheme.

M60, from 9pm October 21 to 6am October 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J17 to J18 - carriageway closure for White Lining/Road Markings on behalf of Amey.

M60, from 9pm October 24 2022 to 6am February 11 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 17 to junction 18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

M60, from 9pm October 31 to 6am November 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 16 - M62 eastbound, junction 19 - M62 westbound, jct 19 - M60 anticlockwise jct 17 - M60 anticlockwise - M66 northbound, jct three - M66 southbound, jct three - M60 anticlockwise jct 19 lane closures and slip road closures and carriageway closures due to survey works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
