Road closures: seven for Bury drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bury will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bury will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A56, from 8pm July 4 to 7am July 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, Edenfield to M66, junction 1 lane closures due to drainage works.

M60, from 9pm March 16 to 6am August 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier scheme.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

M66, from 9pm July 17 to 5am July 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 to junction 2 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M60, from 8.30pm July 18 to 6am July 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 - M60, junction 19 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

M60, from 8pm July 19 to 5am July 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to 18 - Lane closure for communications.

M60, from 9pm July 21 to 6am July 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 4 - three - M60 clockwise, junction 17 - 18 lane closures and slip road closure due to maintenance works.

M60, from 8pm August 1 to 5am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J13 to J18 - Lane closure for barrier works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
