Road closures: nine for Bury drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bury will have nine National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And six of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M66, from 9pm May 13 to 6am May 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, jct one - three lane closures and slip road closures due to inspections.

• M66, from 9pm May 12 to 5am May 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, jct three - one lane closures and slip road closures due to surveys.

• M66, from 9pm April 4 to 5am May 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, J3 to J4 - lane closure for signs - erection.

• M60, from 9pm May 2 to 6am June 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage.

• A56, from 8pm February 17 to 6am July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, M66, junction 1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M66, from 9pm May 16 to 5am May 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 3 to 4 - lane closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm May 17 to 6am May 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J18 to J17 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm May 19 to 5am May 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 20 to junction 19 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• A56, from 9pm May 20 to 5am May 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 0 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
