Road closures: nine for Bury drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bury will have nine National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8pm March 25 to 6am March 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 2 to 4 lane closure and carriageway closures due to barriers.

• M60, from 9pm February 27 to 6am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage.

• A56, from 8pm February 17 to 6am July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, M66, junction 1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 9pm March 27 to 6am April 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 16 - 18 - M66 southbound, jct three - four - M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 18 - 20 lane closures and slip road closures due to improvements.

• M60, from 9pm March 28 to 5am March 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J19 to J18 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm March 29 to 5am March 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anticlockwise, junction 20 to 19 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 9pm April 3 to 5am April 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 18 to 17 hard shoulder closure and closure of, junction 17 exit slip road due to horticulture works.

• M60, from 8pm April 4 to 6am April 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J18 to J17 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

• M66, from 9pm April 4 to 5am April 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, J3 to J4 - lane closure for signs - erection.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
