Road closures: nine for Bury drivers this week

And eight of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M66, from 9pm May 23 to 5am June 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 0 - one hard shoulder closure for drainage.

A56, from 9pm May 16 to 6am June 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, J1 to A56 - carriageway closure for drainage.

M60, from 9pm March 16 to 6am August 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier scheme.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

M60, from 8pm June 6 to 6am June 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J16 to J18 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

M60, from 9.30pm June 6 to 6am June 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise, junction 19 - 18 lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier scheme.

M60, from 8am June 11 to 5am June 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 18 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for Closed on Police instruction.

M60, from 9pm June 17 to 5am June 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to junction 18 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M60, from 9pm June 18 to 5am June 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 18 to junction 16 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M60, from 9pm June 19 to 5am June 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 16 to junction 18 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
