Road closures: more than a dozen for Bury drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bury will have 15 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A56, from 9pm February 27 to 5am March 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 0 - two lane closures and slip road closure for drainage.

• A56, from 8pm March 16 to 5am April 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, A56 to junction 1 carriageway closure for drainage works.

• M66, from 5am March 12 to 5am May 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 - three narrow lanes and speed limit due to barrier scheme.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M62, from 8pm March 21 to 6am March 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, J20 to J18 - Lane closure for communications.

• M66, from 8pm March 21 to 6am March 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, J0 to J2 - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• M66, from 8.30pm March 21 to 5am March 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 2 to junction 1 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M66, from 8.30pm March 21 to 5am March 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 - three - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M60, from 8.30pm March 22 to 5am March 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 to junction 19 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M66, from 8.30pm March 24 to 5am March 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M60, from 9pm March 25 to 7am March 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise, junction 20 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 26 to 6am March 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 21 to 18 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm March 27 to 6am March 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J20 to J18 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 9pm March 28 to 7am March 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier scheme.

• M60, from 8pm March 29 to 6am March 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 19 - 18 Lane closure for communication works.

• M66, from 10pm March 31 to 5am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 3 to 4 - Lane closure for signs - Erection.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
