Road closures: eight for Bury drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bury will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And six of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm March 16 to 6am August 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier scheme.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

A56, from 8pm July 4 to 7am July 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, Edenfield to M66, junction 1 lane closures due to drainage works.

A56, from 9pm July 8 to 5am July 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 0 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

A56, from 9pm July 11 to 5am July 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 0 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M66, from 9pm July 14 to 5am July 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 4 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M66, from 9pm July 15 to 5am July 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 4 -3 lane closures and slip road closures due to maintenance works.

M66, from 9pm July 17 to 5am July 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 to junction 2 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M60, from 8.30pm July 18 to 6am July 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 - M60, junction 19 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
