Road closures: eight for Bury drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bury will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A56, from 9pm May 16 to 5am June 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, J1 to A56 - carriageway closure for drainage.

M60, from 9pm March 16 to 6am August 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier scheme.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

M66, from 9pm May 23 to 5am June 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 0 - one hard shoulder closure for drainage.

M60, from 10pm May 27 to 6am May 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to junction 18 - Lane closure for Construction - Bridge/Structure.

M60, from 11pm May 28 to 6am May 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J19 to J18 - Lane closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

M62, from 8pm May 30 to 5am May 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, J18 to J20 - Lane closure for communications.

M60, from 8pm June 6 to 6am June 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J16 to J18 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

M60, from 9pm June 6 to 5am June 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J18 to J17 - carriageway closure for drainage.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
