Road closures: eight for Bury drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bury will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M66, from 5am March 12 to 5am May 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 - three narrow lanes and speed limit due to barrier scheme.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A56, from 9pm April 4 to 5am April 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, J1 to A56 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm April 4 to 5am April 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 19 to M60B, junction 17 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M60, from 9pm April 4 to 5am April 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 21 to 18 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 8pm April 10 to 6am April 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J16 to J18 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 9pm April 11 to 6am April 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, J21 to J18 - Lane closure and slip road closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm April 12 to 6am April 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to M62, junction 19 lane closures and slip road closures due to survey works.

• M60, from 8.30pm April 16 to 5am April 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 17 to junction 18 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
