Road closures: eight for Bury drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bury will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 8.30pm January 4 to 5am January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions J17 to J18 - lane closure for central reservation on behalf of National Highways.

• M66, from 9pm January 4 to 5am January 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, junction2 to junction3 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M66, from 9pm January 4 to 5am January 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm January 6 to 6am January 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J19 to J19 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

• A56, from 9pm January 6 to 5am January 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 both directions junction2 to junction1 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm January 9 to 5am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm January 10 to 6am January 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J18 to J20 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm January 11 to 6am January 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J18 to J20 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
