Road closures: eight for Bury drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bury will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bury will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm October 19 to 5am November 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 18 to 19 - Lane closure and slip road closures for communications.

M60, from 8.30pm October 18 to 5am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions J18 to J16 - lane closure for construction improvement/upgrade.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 9pm October 30 to 5am October 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 18 carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M60, from 8pm November 2 to 6am November 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise M66 to J19 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

M66, from 8pm November 6 to 6am November 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, J3 to J4 - lane closure for communications.

M60, from 8pm November 6 to 6am November 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 16 to 17 lane closures due to drainage.

A56, from 8.30pm November 11 to 5am November 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 0 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M66, from 8.30pm November 12 to 5am November 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 both directions, junction 2 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for horticulture (cutting and planting).

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
