Road closures: eight for Bury drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bury will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bury will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M66, from 9pm September 9 to 5am September 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 both directions, junction 1 to 0 - lane closure for barriers.

M60, from 9pm August 15 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 19 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A56, from 9pm September 11 to 5am September 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to bent gate - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M60, from 11pm September 13 to 5am September 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J16 to J17 - carriageway closure for communications.

M60, from 9pm September 16 to 5am September 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 19 entry slip road closure due to barrier works.

M66, from 8pm September 18 to 6am September 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 both directions J1 to J0 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

M60, from 8pm September 22 to 5am September 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J18 to J19 - lane closure for communications.

M60, from 8pm September 24 to 6am October 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 3 carriageway closure due carriageway improvements.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
