Road closures: eight for Bury drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bury will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bury will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M66, from 8pm August 12 to 5am August 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 both directions, junction 2 to junction 4 - lane closure for litter clearance.

M60, from 8.30pm August 12 to 5am August 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 18 to junction 17 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 9pm August 14 to 5am August 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 17 - 19 lane closures and slip road closures due to maintenance works.

M66, from 11pm August 14 to 5am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2 - lane closure for barriers.

M60, from 9pm August 15 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 19 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

M60, from 8.30pm August 16 to 5am August 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 18 to junction 19 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M60, from 9pm August 18 to 5am August 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to maintenance works.

M62, from 9pm August 21 to 5am August 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J19 to J18 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
