Road closures: almost a dozen for Bury drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bury will have 11 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm March 11 to 5am March 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 18 - 20 Lane closures and closure of slips due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm March 6 to 6am March 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 16 - M62 eastbound, junction 19 - lane closures due to survey works.

• M60, from 9pm February 27 to 6am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage.

• A56, from 8pm February 17 to 6am July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, M66, junction 1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M62, from 9pm March 14 to 5am March 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for barrier works on behalf of National Highways.

• M66, from 9pm March 15 to 5am March 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2 - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

• M66, from 9pm March 16 to 5am March 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 2 to junction 1 - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

• M66, from 10pm March 20 to 5am March 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 3 to junction 2 - lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm March 22 to 5am March 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 17 to junction 18 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M60, from 9pm March 23 to 5am March 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 19 entry slip road closure due to barrier works.

• M60, from 8pm March 25 to 6am March 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 2 to 4 lane closure and carriageway closures due to barriers.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
