Road closures: almost a dozen for Bury drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bury will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And seven of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm October 19 to 5am November 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 18 to 19 - Lane closure and slip road closures for communications.

• M60, from 8.30pm October 18 to 5am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions J18 to J16 - lane closure for construction improvement/upgrade.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 9pm October 23 to 5am October 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 17 - 18 - M66 northbound, jct three - two lane closures and carriageway closures.

• M60, from 9pm October 24 to 5.30am October 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 18 - 20 Lane closures and closure of slips due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm October 25 to 5am October 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 20 to junction 18 - carriageway closure for communications.

• M60, from 8.30pm October 26 to 5am October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - Lane closure for communications.

• M60, from 11.59pm October 28 to 5am October 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 16 to 18 - lane closures and carriageway closure for communications on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm October 30 to 5am October 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 18 carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 8pm November 2 to 6am November 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise M66 to J19 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

• M66, from 8pm November 6 to 6am November 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, J3 to J4 - lane closure for communications.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
