Bury road closures: six for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Bury's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bury's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm June 25 to 5.30am June 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 18 - 20 Lane closures and closure of slips due to general maintenance works.

A56, from 8pm February 17 to 6am July 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, M66, junction 1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 9pm June 26 to 5am July 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J20 to J19 - lane closure for drainage.

M66, from 8pm June 27 to 5am June 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 both directions, junction 2 to junction 4 - lane closure for litter clearance.

M60, from 9pm June 28 to 5am June 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 18 to junction 16 - lane closure for horticulture.

M66, from 8pm July 5 to 5am July 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2 - lane closure for horticulture.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
