Bury road closures: seven for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Bury's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bury's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8.30pm October 18 to 5am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions J18 to J16 - lane closure for construction improvement/upgrade.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M66, from 8pm November 27 to 6am November 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 both directions J1 to J4 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

M60, from 11.59pm November 29 to 5am November 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 16 to junction 18 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M60, from 8.30pm November 30 to 5am December 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 18 to junction 17 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M60, from 8.30pm December 2 to 5am December 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 18 to junction 19 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M60, from 9pm December 3 to 5am December 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to maintenance works.

M66, from 9pm December 11 to 5am December 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 southbound, junction 2 entry slip road closure due to drainage.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
