Bury road closures: seven for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight
Bury's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

Hide AdThe latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M60, from 9pm May 2 to 6am June 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage.
• A56, from 8pm February 17 to 6am July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, M66, junction 1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.
And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

Hide Ad• M60, from 9pm June 5 to 5am June 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 17 - 18 - M66 northbound, jct three - two lane closures and carriageway closures.
• M60, from 8pm June 9 to 6am June 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 18 to junction 20 - carriageway closure for Closed on behalf of Amey.
• A56, from 9pm June 10 to 5am June 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 0 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.
• M62, from 8pm June 15 to 5am June 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J18 to J19 - lane closure for communications.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
