Bury road closures: four for motorists to avoid this week
Bury's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• M60, from 9pm March 16 to 6am August 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 4 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to barrier scheme.
And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:
• A56, from 8pm July 4 to 7am July 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, Edenfield to M66, junction 1 lane closures due to drainage works.
• A56, from 9pm July 8 to 5am July 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 0 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.
• A56, from 9pm July 11 to 5am July 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 0 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
