Bury's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bury's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

M60, from 9pm January 29 to 5am January 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 17 to junction 18 - lane closure for electrical works.

M66, from 9pm January 29 to 5am February 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, junction4 to junction 1 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 9pm January 29 to 5am January 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 Simister Island Roundabout carriageway closure on the North side of roundabout.

M60, from 8pm January 31 to 5am February 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J16 to J17 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

A56, from 9pm February 2 to 5am February 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M66 northbound and southbound, junction 0 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M60, from 8pm February 5 to 6am February 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J16 to J18 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

M60, from 9pm February 8 to 6am February 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J18 to J19 - carriageway closure for white lining/road markings.

M60, from 8.30pm February 12 to 5am February 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for communications on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
