Road closures: seven for Bolton drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bolton will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bolton will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that seven closures are due to start this week:

M61, from 8pm March 3 to 5am March 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, J3 to J1 - lane closure for barriers.

M61, from 10pm March 4 to 10am March 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61, junction 3 - A666 northbound and southbound, carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M61, from 8pm March 6 to 6am March 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 both directions M60 to junction 3 - lane closure for communications.

M61, from 8pm March 6 to 5am March 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, J6 to J5 - lane closure for barriers.

M61, from 8pm March 7 to 5am March 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 6 exit slip roads lane closures due to signage stickers.

M61, from 8pm March 7 to 5am March 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 both directions J6 to J5 - lane closure for barriers.

M61, from 9pm March 10 to 7am March 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 5 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
