Road closures: seven for Bolton drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bolton will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bolton will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm October 29 to 5am October 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 3 to junction 1 - lane closure for Horticulture.

A580, from 9pm October 23 to 6am October 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M61, from 9pm October 30 to 5am November 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, J6 to J5 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

A580, from 9pm October 30 to 6am November 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

M61, from 9pm November 1 to 5am November 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, jct five to 6 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

M61, from 9pm November 6 to 5am November 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound, six to 6 - lane closure for drainage.

M6, from 9pm November 13 to 6am November 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
