Road closures: seven for Bolton drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bolton will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that seven closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M61, from 8pm October 23 to 6am October 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 both directions J4 to J6 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• A580, from 9pm October 23 to 6am October 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

• M60, from 8pm October 25 to 6am October 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 both directions M60 to Kearsley - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

• M61, from 9pm October 27 to 5am October 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 6 to junction - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• M61, from 9pm October 28 to 5am October 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 6 to junction - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• M60, from 9pm October 29 to 5am October 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 3 to junction 1 - lane closure for Horticulture.

• A580, from 9pm October 30 to 6am November 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
