Road closures: eight for Bolton drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bolton will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M61, from 8pm March 3 to 5am March 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, J3 to J1 - lane closure for barriers.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M61, from 8pm March 6 to 6am March 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 both directions M60 to junction 3 - lane closure for communications.

• M61, from 8pm March 6 to 5am March 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, J6 to J5 - lane closure for barriers.

• M61, from 8pm March 7 to 5am March 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 both directions J6 to J5 - lane closure for barriers.

• M61, from 8pm March 7 to 5am March 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 6 exit slip roads lane closures due to signage stickers.

• M61, from 9pm March 10 to 7am March 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 5 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M61, from 8pm March 15 to 5am March 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 both directions J5 to J5 - lane closure for barriers.

• M61, from 9pm March 15 to 5am March 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound, junction 4 to junction 5 - lane closure for construction improvement/upgrade.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
