Road closures: eight for Bolton drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bolton will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And seven of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• A580, from 9pm August 29 to 6am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

• M61, from 9pm August 31 to 5am September 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M61, from 9pm September 1 to 5am September 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M61, from 9pm September 2 to 5am September 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound, jct three to 4 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• M602, from 9pm September 2 to 5am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, 11 to 12 - lane closure for barriers.

• M61, from 10pm September 2 to 10am September 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61, junction 3 - A666 northbound and southbound, carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm September 3 to 5am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 5 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

• A580, from 9pm September 4 to 6am September 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
