Bolton road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

Bolton's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8pm June 28 to 6am November 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 - nine - Lane closure for communications.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

M61, from 8pm August 24 to 6am August 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, J3 to J1 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

M61, from 9pm September 3 to 5am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 6 to junction - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M61, from 10pm September 3 to 10am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61, junction 3 - A666 northbound and southbound, carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M61, from 9pm September 4 to 5am September 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
