Bolton road closures: seven for motorists to avoid this week

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M61, from 8pm January 30 to 6am January 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 4 - six lane closures and carriageway closures due to resurfacing.

M60, from 11pm January 10 to 5am February 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 3 to junction 4 - Lane closure for drainage.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

M61, from 8pm January 31 to 5am February 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 6 to 5 lane closure for sign erections.

M61, from 9pm January 31 to 5am February 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 5 exit slip - Lane closure for drainage.

A580, from 8pm February 2 to 6am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to 9 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

M61, from 7pm February 7 to 11.59pm February 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 North southbound, junction 5 exit slips lane closures due to signage for TfGM.

M61, from 9pm February 11 to 5am February 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
