Bolton road closures: five for motorists to avoid this week

Bolton's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bolton's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8pm June 28 to 6am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 - nine - Lane closure for communications.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

M61, from 9pm December 13 to 6am December 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 5 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

M61, from 9pm December 19 to 5am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6 - carriageway closure for Horticulture.

M61, from 9pm December 19 to 5am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 6 - lane closure for electrical works.

M61, from 9pm December 20 to 5am December 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 both directions, junction 6 to junction 8 - lane closure for barriers.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
