Bolton road closures: five for motorists to avoid this week

Bolton's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M65, from 9pm July 4 to 5am July 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M65 eastbound and westbound, j3 to j4 - carriageway closure for White Lining/Road Markings.

M60, from 8pm June 28 to 6am November 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 - nine - Lane closure for communications.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

M61, from 10pm July 16 to 10am July 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61, junction 3 - A666 northbound and southbound, carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M61, from 8pm July 18 to 6am July 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound, junction 5 lane closures due to carriageway repairs.

M62, from 8pm July 19 to 5am July 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 12 to 10 - Lane closure for communications.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
