Bolton's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bolton's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And six of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A580, from 9pm June 26 to 6am July 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

M61, from 9pm June 28 to 5am July 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61 northbound, junction 6 to junction 6 - lane closure for drainage.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A580, from 9pm July 3 to 6am July 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

M61, from 9pm July 3 to 5am July 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 northbound, junction 4 to junction 5 - lane closure for drainage.

A580, from 9pm July 10 to 6am July 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

M61, from 10pm July 15 to 10am July 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M61, junction 3 - A666 northbound and southbound, carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

M60, from 9pm July 17 to 5am July 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M61 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for barriers.

A580, from 9pm July 17 to 6am July 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 21A - 26 lane closures and carriageway closures due to improvement works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
