Manchester is gearing up for a historic weekend with City and United going head to head in the FA Cup Final at Wembley on Saturday – the first Manchester derby to take place at the London stadium.

If you’re not one of the lucky people to have secured tickets for the big day and are looking for somewhere in Manchester to watch the match alongside other excited fans – red or blue – here are some of the city centre spots to check out.

Bookings are still open for GRUB’s cup final screening, although selling out quickly. They will be showing the match at Arch 12. Tickets cost £5 and include a £5 drinks token to use at the bar. Some of the food and drink vendors on the day include beers from Runaway Brewery and Gatto Pizza.

You can take your seats ahead of the match at 1pm and the last entry will be 2:30pm. More information and ticket bookings can be found on the GRUB website.

Bierkeller, O’Neill’s, Yates and Walkabout will also be screening the FA Cup Final match. You can find links to the individual bars’ booking information via the Printworks’ website. The match will also be shown at Boom Battle Bar, the newest spot to open at the Printworks. To celebrate, they are offering 100 free bottles of Heineken. To enter, sign up via their website.

Sports bars

Some of the city centre’s favourite sports bars will be screening the match, including Box on Deansgate and the high-end The Directors’ Box. Both of these bars have an extensive drinks menu that includes craft ales and cocktails, and food menus that include burgers, pizzas and small plates that would be perfect for half-time snacks.

If you’re in the Northern Quarter, Tib Street Tavern is the place to be for match days. They do offer walkins, but it tends to fill up pretty quickly. More information can be found via their social media pages.

Closer to the Oxford Road area, there are another two great bars that are popular with sports fans, starting with Footage – a student-friendly bar that is known for its burger and beer deals. You can book a table via their website.  Secondly, you can also try the Turing Tap, which has a great menu, including stone-baked pizzas and sharing platters, which will definitely keep you going through the match.
