ELR Behind the Scenes Photography Experience

If you’re into photography then East Lancashire Railway is giving people the opportunity to get up close and personal with the stations heritage, on a day-long, behind-the-scenes tour.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned shutterbug or just getting started as an amateur photographer, everyone is welcome on the railway.

While getting your snaps, there will also be an expert guided tour to answer questions about the engines and history of the railway.

Cloudwater and Levanter Take Over

KAMPUS is set to host 10 weeks of back-to-back parties from its canalside garden, with each weekend hosting a number of different guest DJs playing tunes from different corners of the world.

Free beer will be provided by Manchester brewery Cloudwater with Levanter Fine Foods serving up dishes like tapas and giant paella.

This weekend will host DJs playing Spanish house music, plus there will be a Record Store Day pop-up featuring indie record shops selling and spinning hot records.

This weekend will see the return of Record Store Day - an annual event held every April.

The international event brings together fans, artists and thousands of record shops around the world, including more than 260 shops in the UK.

With Manchester’s strong music heritage there will be plenty going on in the city. This year the event will be celebrating its 15th anniversary and will take place on Saturday, April 23.

Stockport in the 1970s by Heidi Alexander

If you enjoy taking a look back at history long-lost images of life in Stockport from back in the 1970s are on display at local restaurant, Where The Light Gets In.

Unearthed by Swiss-born photographer Heidi Alexander during the COVID-19 pandemic, after 40 years in storage, a selection of the shots are free for all to enjoy at the restaurant.
