A theatrical production telling the story of the recent ‘Wagatha Christie’ case between Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney is coming to The Lowry in Salford this June.
The much-anticipated Vardy V Rooney: A Wagatha Christie Trial production reveals a first-hand account of what happened behind closed doors during the astonishing court case between the two footballers’ wives that gripped the nation.
Adapted by Liv Hennessy and Directed by Lisa Spirling, the verbatim production allows the audience to see directly in the words of both Vardy and Rooney how the extraordinary week in court played out. To add to the play’s sense of realism, the script has been converted and adapted from seven days’ worth of high court transcripts.
The sensational script will be performed by West End star, Lucy May Barker as Rebekah Vardy, and Laura Dos Santos as Coleen Rooney, wife of former Manchester United icon Wayne.
The production of the infamous court case became an immediate success after its sell-out West End debut at the Wyndham’s Theatre in London in November 2022.
The play has since received a four-star rating from The Times, Evening Standard, and the Daily Mail, who described the performance as “just brilliant”.
‘Vardy V Rooney: A Wagatha Christie Trial’ will run for three nights, from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 June.
Tickets start at £22 and can be bought from The Lowry here.
Vardy V Rooney is also set to perform in Working, Liverpool, Brighton, and more on its tour.
