Here’s what to expect from UK’s first Nerf experience, coming to Manchester this August.

A new experience is coming to the Trafford Palazzo this summer, where players can test their Nerf blaster skills and battle it out in a range of different settings.

The Nerf Action Xperience will be opening on August 25 and it is set to be the first of its kind in Europe before being rolled across other UK cities over the next few years. It will be suitable for both adults and children over the age of five.

It has been developed by Manchester-based Rocafella Leisure under licence by Hasbro, the makers behind Nerf, and in partnership with entertainment platform Fever Up.

What does it involve?

There are five different themed areas to choose from, including Sports @ NERF AX, where you play seven different games all inspired by sports. There is also a Training Ground, where you can test your aim on digital target.

If you want something a little more creative, you can also try out Chaos City, an adventure set in a post-apocalyptic urban city, or Mission X, where you are in a cargo bay or marooned spaceship, or Project Stealth, where the setting is a classified testing bunker.

Aside from the Nerf arenas, the site will also include a 8,000 square foot shop, which will be the first dedicated Nerf shop  in the UK. It will stock hundreds of Nerf products, as well as Nerf AX merchandise.

Fast-food chain Archies are also moving in to the premises, where players can grab some refreshments after a fun session of Nerf battles.

How to get tickets and how much does it cost?

Tickets start at £20 and can be purchased in advance online via Feverup. The price includes a pair of safety goggles, which must be worn when playing. Each session lasts for one hour.

If you come back again, you can use the same pair for your first trip. There are different ticket options that include no googles for people returning with a pair of goggles.

You can also book different party packages that include a Nerf package for the birthday person. It also includes food from Archies.

What do the organisers say?

Chris Hayes, Chief Executive of Rocafella Leisure Group said: “We’re so excited to be opening our doors this summer, just in time for the school holidays.

“We’ve worked exhaustively with our partners Hasbro to curate and deliver, what we know will be, a first-class venue for highly active, fun-filled, and adrenaline-packed activities and challenges for all the families and adults.

"The UK hasn’t seen anything like this before so we simply can’t wait for people to join us and see what’s in store. It’ll be an unparalleled experience full of action and thrills for everyone.”
