As people return back to routine after a busy month of festivities in December, things are starting to pick up again across the city-region. Here are a few events to keep you entertained over the weekend and beyond.
John Bishop - Right Here, Right Now
This Sunday 16 January, TV funnyman John Bishop is coming to The Lowry with his brand-new stand up show – Right Here, Right Now. This will be John’s eighth stand up show. The tour will see him performing across the UK, Ireland, America, Canada and Europe.

The Pundits
If sport is something you enjoy then this month there is the chance to join football royalty with regards to pundits as Sky Sports Jeff Stelling will be joined by a panel consisting of Paul Merson, Matt Le Tissier, Phil Thompson & Charlie Nicholas to talk everything football from players to managers and everything in between. There will be a few anecdotal stories along the way of their playing days and what they got up to. It takes place at the Opera House on Monday 17 January.

PopUp Painting
If you love to get creative then PopUp Painting invites you to sip and paint in Manchester this weekend. With a glass in one hand and a paint brush in the other, visitors are welcomed to unleash their creativity whilst also having fun. The event at Whitworth Locke will be themed around Michelle Shore’s Van Gogh-inspired Starry Night over Manchester and no experience is required.

Daliso Chaponda: Apocalypse Not Now
Coming to Waterside in Sale at the end of the month is Finalist of Britain’s Got Talent Daliso Chaponda whois back with a new hour of stand-up comedy.
After appearances on the Britain’s Got Talent Christmas Special and the Royal Variety Show last December, Daliso has built a whole new following online. It takes place on 29 January.
