The Chicks, formerly known as The Dixie Chicks, are bringing their latest world tour to Manchester’s AO Arena. The 37-date mega tour kicked off on June 20 in Oslo, Norway and will visit AO Arena on July 4.

When the tour was announced, The Chicks said “This last year on the road has been a whirlwind for us but it’s time to bring the party to the UK and Europe. We can’t wait to see everyone and play for all our fans across the pond – it’s been a long time coming, and we can’t wait to get back!”

The Chicks are known for their huge hits including Landslide, Wide Open Spaces and Travelin’ Soldier. After a 14 year break, The Chicks released their fifth studio album Gaslighter to rave reviews in July 2020 via Columbia Records, with songs including For Her, Texas Man and Everybody Loves You.

But what time will The Chicks start their gig in Manchester and what songs will they play? Here is everything you need to know ahead of the big show on July 4.

What time does The Chicks at AO Arena start and who is the supporting act?

According to AO Arena, doors will open to the event at 6pm, with the event starting at 7.30pm. It is recommended to come to the arena early to ensure you don’t miss out on the show.

The Chicks will be joined by Maren Morris at their Manchester gig.

AO Arena parking

If you are planning on getting to AO Arena by car, CitiPark provides an on-site car park with 958 spaces. During the event, the car park is manned by the events team ensuring parking goes smoothly throughout the night.

If you don’t want to drive in the city centre, there are several Park and Ride facilities that will take you to the arena. The following Park and Ride facilities are free to use with a valid Metrolink ticket and will take you to AO Arena:

  • West of Manchester, Ladywell, 250 spaces (Pilgrims Way, Salford, M50 1AW) – 25-minute journey to city centre
  • South of Manchester, Hollinwood, 202 spaces (Hudson Street, Failsworth, OL9 7LG) – 20-minute journey time to city centre
  • East of Manchester, Ashton Moss, 200 spaces (Alexandria Drive, Ashton, OL6 7UB) – 30-minute journey time to city centre
  • South of Manchester, Sale Water Park, 316 spaces (Rifle Road, Sale, M33 2LX) – 25-minute journey time to city centre

  • Animals (except ADUK registered service dogs)
  • Air horns, whistles, cowbells or other noise-making distractions
  • Projectiles (frisbees, beach balls, footballs etc)
  • Aerosol cans (hairspray, deodorant etc )
  • Fireworks, confetti, glitter bombs or flares
  • Balloons
  • Use of wheeled footwear, skateboards
