Super League Grand Final 2023: Tickets, where to park and Metrolink tram options for showpiece Old Trafford match

Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United FC, will host a different kind of ball sport this weekend. The iconic venue hosts the 2023 Super League Grand Final between Wigan Warriors and Catalans Dragons. 

Wigan have been victorious in the Grand Final on no fewer than five occasions, whilst Calatalans  are looking for their first title. The match kicks off at 6pm on Saturday October 14. 

The fixture has become a regular Old Trafford-hosted event, and there is usually a great atmosphere. Greater Manchester side Wigan will no doubt be well supported within the ground. 

How to get tickets for Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford

Whilst thousands of tickets have already been snapped up, there are still plenty on offer. Adult tickets can be purchased for £30 with children's tickets up for around £15. 

Seats are available all around Old Trafford, with a few hundred tickets available in the safe standing area of the stadium. The best options remaining are in the south east corner of Old Trafford, and tickets can be bought through the Rugby League website. 

Metrolink stops for Super League Grand Final

With tens of thousands of fans descending on Old Trafford, the public transport system in Manchester will be heavily used. Getting to the ground is perhaps easiest by using the Metrolink network. 

The closest tram stop to Old rafford is Wharfside. The red line stop will put you just a ⅚ minute walk from the stadium. 

Old Trafford tram stop is located next to the Old Trafford Cricket Ground. Getting off here will leave you around a 10/12 minute walk from the football ground. 

Alternatively, if you want to get food and drink beforehand, you can get off the tram at Salford Quays. This is slightly further away, but will make sure you are less than 20 minutes walk away from the stadium. 

A fourth option for tram stop is Trafford Bar which is located on the opposite side of Old Trafford than the other three stops. This is around a 20 minute walk from the stadium.

Where to park for Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford
