Shrove Tuesday is almost here. Traditionally celebrated by Christians as the last day of indulgence before Lent, this foodie holiday is now a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate the champion of breakfast foods – the pancake.

Sweet or savoury, fluffy or flat, American or French, plain or loaded with toppings, there’s a pancake out there for everyone. And chances are you will be able to find one to suit your tastes in Manchester this Pancake Day.

If you haven’t quite mastered the perfect flip and would rather leave it to the professionals, here are some of the best offers to look out for.

The Botanist

Why have a plate of pancakes when you can have them hanging from a skewer instead? The Botanist have brought back their viral hanging pancake kebabs for the whole month of February.

The mini pancakes come in three varieties – the All American, with fried chicken and maple bacon and served with mini hash browns and sriracha mayo; Rocky Road, Biscoff and Oreo rocky road pieces, served with strawberries, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice-cream; and Chocolate Orange, brownie chunks, orange brandy sauce and vanilla ice-cream.

Each stack comes with a sauce that you can pour on top and drizzle down. You can also add a shot of Licor 43 to accompany your food for £2. Prices range between £8.95 and £16.50, depending on which stack you choose.

Ducie Street Warehouse

Two words: Bottomless. Pancakes. That’s what is on offer at Ducie Street Warehouse this Pancake Day. For £13.50 per person, you get unlimited pancakes for 30 minutes, plus unlimited tea or filter coffee. You can choose from three different toppings each time you go to the pancake station. These include lemon syrup, banana, whipped cream, berries, caramel sauce, to name but a few. You can also add bacon or egg for an extra £2.50.

The offer is available for one day only on Tuesday 21 February, from 10am-5pm. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are also available.

Impossible

Impossible is now taking bookings for Pancake Day. They are offering pancakes and prosecco for £12, or you can make it bottomless for £20 per person. Head to their website to book online or email at [email protected].

Cosy Club

Cosy Club at Exchange Square has announced a limited edition menu for Pancake Day, which will be available from Saturday 18 - Friday 21 February. The star of the menu is their signature Black Forest Gateaux Stack, featuring Cassis whipped cream, cherry syrup, brownie pieces, chocolate sauce, raspberries, and maraschino cherries. You can choose between a portion of three, six or nine pancakes, starting at £9.95.

If that does not take your fancy, then Cosy Club also have a Build Your Own option, new for this year. These also come in portions of three, six or nine pancakes, which you can top with your selection of 15 different toppings. Prices start at £8.95, which includes three toppings, and you can add extra for £1.50 each. Chocolate bark, honeycomb, salted caramel sauce and yoghurt are just some of the options available. The Doghouse

The BrewDog hotel, Doghouse, is also offering bottomless pancakes this Shrove Tuesday. For £35 per person, you get 30 minutes of bottomless pancakes and syrup, accompanied by either their bottomless headline beers or bubbly. Head over to their website to book your table.

The Shack

There are several bottomless pancake options available at The Shack this Pancake. Between 21-23 February, they are offering bottomless pancakes for £12.50 per person. You can also choose to add booze to your pancake sesh. For £15 per person you can choose from unlimited prosecco, mimosas, Coors, Corona, Redstripe, Aspall Cider or Shack Fruit Cider. And if you want to really push the boat out, then you can get unlimited cocktails such as Pornstar Martinis, Caramel Chocolate Espresso Martini, Frozen Strawberry Daiquiris, house spirit and mixer, plus also the other drinks previously mentioned, for £25 per person. Albert Schloss

Albert Schloss will be extending the hours of their Pancake Haus this Pancake Day. They will be available all day from 9am. You can choose between the two classic flavours – vanilla berries and creaam, or maple bacon and Burford Brown eggs – or try the limited edition Banoffee Pie pancakes, which will be available for one day only.
