Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have a track record of lighting up Manchester parks

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are coming to Wythenshawe Park this weekend, with their only Manchester show of the year pencilled in for August 26. The show comes before a huge UK arena tour which doesn’t include a Manchester date.

Ahead of the bank holiday date at Wythenshawe park, we’ve taken a look back at when NGHFB’s last played a gig in a Manchester park. This was back in 2019.

On this occasion, Heaton Park was the venue for the gig and thousands descended to listen in and enjoy. The gig came two years after the release of their third album ‘Who Built The Moon’ and the setlist was a mix of their songs and some Oasis classics.

The band opened up with Fort Knox, which is the opening track on ‘Who Built The Moon?’ followed by ‘Holy Mountain’. The Oasis songs which made their way onto the setlist included ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘Half The World Away’.
